6 Steps to Live your Purpose

Just 6 steps…

Most of the work that I am currently doing with clients and students comes back to the same core issues. We are all a work in progress, evolving, letting go, and getting back to the essence of who we REALLY are. Not just who you believe you are, but to that Soul knowledge and understanding. It is powerful and profound work, and I absolutely love and appreciate every opportunity to connect with others on this level.

We hear a lot about living our ‘best lives’, or reaching our highest potential, and I believe that that is why we are here.
But to get to that, you have to do one thing: You have to know, understand, and embody the very best of who you are, and the truth of You.

I’ve compiled a little list of ways to step into this potential, in the hopes of demystifying the process… I’m doing my best to live it every day, and invite you to join me! <3

6 Steps to Actualise your Potential and Live your Purpose

1. You need to understand your purpose and potential, and in order to do this, you need to get to know yourself.
You are not your labels or your identity. You are not your past, your parents, your ancestors, your culture, your country. You are beyond this, you transcend all of these.
Anything that you can do to release yourself from these outdated beliefs and ideas will help you to know yourself. Healing the past, releasing old ties, forgiving others, finding peace will allow you to explore and understand yourself without the rest of the stuff getting in the way.
Allow yourself to become that tabula rasa, the clean slate, and see the truth of who you are.

2. Be willing to DO, and to try new things!
You will never know what you can do unless you allow yourself to give it a go. I know that the most educational experiences have always been when I have been outside of my comfort zone. I know that I have found myself when I felt lost in the world (i.e. wandering the streets of various cities, literally lost). I know that when I close myself off to new experiences, my life stagnates.
When you allow yourself to explore and become courageous enough to allow life to happen, then YOU happen.

3. Be willing to make mistakes and learn from them.
We learn an epic amount from our mistakes. I’m not saying that this is the only way to learn (please allow yourself to learn in graceful ways too!), but we can always let go of the shame and blame, and find the lessons in whatever we do. My perceived failures have lead to my greatest successes. But this can only happen when you allow yourself to learn. Life is often trial and error. Let go of your judgements and allow yourself to play in the possibilities.

4. You have to dream big.
If you are settling, you are not in your highest potential or your purpose. When I look back at my life, I can see many times where I got by and things were ok. Stress levels and anxiety were low. And so was my sense of satisfaction, passion, and joy. Settling will keep you safe and small. The world is an infinitely abundant place to be! Why would you ever settle?
When you allow yourself to dream big, you step into pure possibility and into your DIVINITY.
{Breathe in that possibility for a moment…}
Pure possibility connects you with all that is divine and infinite within you.
When you settle or play small, you deny All that you are.
Step it up! <3

5. Once you understand your purpose you have to be willing to live it.
You can be scared, but do it anyway.
Many believe that their purpose is too big or too scary, or that it has to be done all by themselves. This is just your beliefs keeping you in your comfort zone. You may have come here with multiple purposes, and will probably be living a few of them right now! And these are the things that bring you the most joy in life. Being a parent, a writer, a dancer, a composer, a teacher, a healer, building community, connecting others are all part of your purpose! They may not be the easiest or most straightforward of paths, but they are yours to live. When you stop fighting your purpose, your life flows…
Let go of your fears of being bright and beautiful, and allow your life to flow…

6. Figure out how your purpose includes other people.
There will never be a time where your purpose separates you from other people, from support, from love. Even if you are meant to create a piece of art yourself, it will impact others in infinite ways. You are always meant to share the work or the process with others. Your purpose will always include others, a community, a service. Find how others fit in and embrace the connections that your purpose helps you to foster.

Consider living this list…
How does it feel? What does it inspire? What fears or doubts does it raise?
What do you need to step up and step into your purpose?
